ARA UCO prices continue to trend higher

Prices for used cooking oil (UCO) continued to increase in Europe amid firmer demand and higher vegetable oil prices.

Sources reported low UCO availability in Europe for spot deliveries, with offers heard in the range of €1,090-1,110 ($1,152-1,173) per tonne on the DDP North-West Europe (NWE) basis, while buyers targeted €1,020-1,030 per tonne, with some bids reaching €1,100 per tonne for first-quarter 2025 delivery windows.

Nevertheless, the trade was not yet active for 2025 dates amid general market uncertainty in the biofuels and feedstocks sector.

“A fire at the Neste plant in Rotterdam added to it. Some facilities also closed for maintenance, some delay launching; the activity is just not there yet,” a source told Fastmarkets.
