DCO prices move lower as production levels hit record highs

Distiller’s corn oil (DCO) traded lower on Thursday November 14, in Manly, Iowa, and out of the FOB Wisconsin/Illinois regions amid declining prices in soybean oil futures.

Offers for DCO delivered to the US Gulf were reported at 50 cents per lb, with bids received at 49 cents per lb throughout the day, though no trades were confirmed before close.

In the California markets, used cooking oil (UCO) prices in both FOB Southern and Northern California have edged up this week, with pricing heard as high as 46.5 cents per lb FOB equivalent. Sources have observed a recent increase in demand, noting that “it’s getting more difficult to secure enough product.”

In related markets, the soybean oil/heating oil (BOHO) spread dropped over 21% since the start of the week, ending Thursday at $1.0540 per gallon as both heating oil and soybean oil futures continued to decline.
