The US Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) released on Wednesday November 13 by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) maintained its US renewable diesel production outlook for both 2024 and 2025.
In its report for November, the agency maintained its 2024 renewable diesel output forecast at 210,000 barrels per day and left its 2025 projection flat as well, at 230,000 bpd. In 2023, US renewable diesel production was 170,000 bpd.
The renewable diesel consumption forecast was left unchanged on the month at 240,000 bpd, while the 2025 domestic blending outlook was lowered from 250,000 bpd in October to 240,000 bpd in the EIA’s latest monthly report. In 2023, domestic renewable diesel use totaled 190,000 bpd.
