Animal protein prices in New Zealand, Indonesia, China steady

Prices in the international animal proteins market were mixed in the week to Thursday November 21.

Australian values varied while New Zealand, China and Indonesia values were steady from the previous week.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of meat and bonemeal, 50 pro, Australia at A$575-630 ($374-410) per tonne on Thursday, down from A$575-630 per tonne on November 14.

Fastmarkets assessed the price of poultry by-product, petfood grade, 65 Pro, export, delivered Australia at A$1,150-1,200 per tonne on Thursday, up from A$1,125-1,175 per tonne on November 14. A high of $A1,250 was reported but could not be confirmed by the time of publication.

Meat and Livestock Australia reported cattle slaughter at 145,687 head in the week to Friday November 15, up by 4,951 head week on week and by 13,158 head year on year.
