Regional biodiesel prices stable amid low buying, selling interest

Regional biodiesel prices were stable on Wednesday November 27 amid low buying and selling interest.

Biofuel markets in general have slowed ahead of the implementation of the Clean Fuel Production Credit (CFPC) on January 1, 2025. The CFPC will replace the Blender’s Tax Credit.

In addition to reducing the available credit for many US producers, the CFPC cannot be earned by foreign producers. Across the biofuels, reduced imports could have a huge effect on markets.

Renewable diesel that generates renewable identification numbers (RINs) is predominantly made within the US, but imports make up around 20% of the US biodiesel supply and two-thirds of the US sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply.
