Organic corn imports increase 33% year over year

Organic corn imports over the previous marketing year have been robust with trade flows continuing to shift as volume leaders trade places.  As with soybeans, Argentina’s organic corn exports fell sharply last marketing year because of prolonged drought in key production regions.

Overall imports rose 33% year over year in 23/24 marketing year.  Cracked corn import volume remains elusive, and there is potential for a crackdown by NOP on Black Sea sourced grain.

The National Organic Program’s (NOP) additional requirements for African organic soybean exporters includes plans for staff of certification bodies working in areas with a high security risk. NOP seeks to eliminate organic fraud, and African farm inspectors must be able to freely do their work.
