Porcine, ruminant bloodmeal prices up on active demand, tight inventory

US animal protein prices were mixed on Tuesday December 3.

Porcine and ruminant bloodmeal prices were supported on indications of tight to nonexistent inventory levels paired with active-to-brisk demand. Several market sources were sold up for the month of December, while others said active demand from the dairy sector elevated spot prices.

Fastmarkets assessed porcine, bloodmeal, Iowa/Missouri/Nebraska at $1,050-1,100 per short ton, up from Monday’s range of $950-1,000 per ton.

Fastmarkets assessed porcine, bloodmeal, Indiana at $1,060-1,125 per short ton, up from Monday’s range of $1,060-1,100 per ton. A trade as high as $1,325 per ton was reported for limited volume.

Fastmarkets assessed ruminant, bloodmeal, Missouri River and Texas Panhandle at $1,025-1,100 per short ton, up from Monday’s ranges of $925-1,050 per ton and $925-1,000 per ton respectively.
