US weekly average ethanol production hit a seven-week low of 1.073 million barrels per day in the week to Friday November 29, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) report on Wednesday December 4. This marked a decrease of 46,000 bpd the previous week and of 0.3% year on year.
Ethanol stocks were reported at 23.003 million barrels, up by 134,000 barrels week on week and by 7.3% year on year.
Demand for corn decreased by 6.7% from the previous week and by 3.4% year on year. Approximately 15.89 million bushels of corn per day were used for ethanol production.
Livestock feed production totaled 114,745 tonnes in the week to Friday. Distillers’ dried grain (DDG) production accounted for 102,051 tonnes, with the remaining amount consisting of 10,711 tonnes of corn gluten feed and 1,983 tonnes of corn gluten meal.
