US weekly corn, wheat export sales climb; corn above estimates

Corn
US corn sales for 2024/25 were reported at 1.73 million tonnes in the week to November 28, up by 63% from the previous week and up by 4% from the prior four-week average, and above the USDA’s expected range of 750,000-1.5 million tonnes, USDA data showed on Thursday December 5.

Much of the increase came from Mexico (392,400 tonnes), Japan (357,700 tonnes), unknown destinations (283,600 tonnes), South Korea (212,700 tonnes) and Costa Rica (84,200 tonnes). The USDA groups undisclosed destinations under the umbrella term “unknown.”

These gains were partly offset by reductions for Guatemala (27,700 tonnes).

The accumulated export commitments reached 176.8% of the USDA forecast.

Export sales for the 2025/26 crop season totaled 22,100 tonnes for Mexico.

Exports of 1.045 tonnes were up by 3% from the previous week and by 17% from the prior four-week average.
