Diamond Green Diesel announces IRS approval for CFPC

Diamond Green Diesel announced on Tuesday December 10 that it had received approval from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for its excise tax registration, a required step for any producer to receive potential Clean Fuel Production Credits (CFPC) for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) or renewable diesel.

The announcement comes while uncertainty continues over a lack of guidance regarding the implementation of the CFPC, also known as 45Z, tax credits created by the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The CFPC was intended to replace the Blender’s Tax Credit (BTC), which expires at the end of 2024.
