Weekly export inspections
Export inspections of US grains showed a decline for soybeans but an increase for corn and wheat in the week to December 12, according to data from the US Department of Agriculture released on Monday December 16.
Corn export inspections reached 1.13 tonnes, up by 6.8% from the previous week and by 17.7% year on year.
The top export destinations were Mexico (377,397 tonnes), Japan (185,690 tonnes) and Colombia (124,780 tonnes).
Yellow corn made up the majority, with 1.08 million tonnes passing inspections, while 48,655 tonnes of white corn passed inspection.
Soybean export inspections totaled 1.676 million tonnes, down by 3.5% from the previous week but up by 17.6% year on year.
Major destinations included China (1.02 million tonnes) and Mexico (191,759 tonnes).
