US animal protein values steady, though in wider ranges

Values on US animal proteins were generally steady but in wide ranges for Wednesday December 18 due to the proximity of the double holiday. Active trade was indicated from several participants, with values lingering inside the previously set ranges or just outside.

Porcine meat and bonemeal, Missouri River, values were flat for the day at $300-350 per short ton, however, values as low as $250 per ton were indicated at light volume or in distress.

In Indiana, a high of $425 per ton was reported for porcine meat and bonemeal in light volume, with the bulk of trade within the published range of $325-370 per ton.

Inventory on porcine bloodmeal was indicated as short and in active demand in most regions. In Missouri River, the range widened to $1,1100-12,25 per ton, up from Tuesday’s range of $1,100-1,200 per ton. A trade as high as $1,250 per ton was reported in limited volume.
