Brazilian BFT prices at lowest level in almost 2 months

Prices for the Brazilian tallow were broadly stable to lower in the week to Thursday December 19, with most soap manufacturers and biodiesel producers being absent from the domestic market ahead of the year-end holidays.

The price for bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) max 3.5% free fatty acids (FFA), CIF São Paulo, inclusive of 12% tax extended the downward movement from the previous week and reached the lowest level since the week to October 24.

The main reference for soap producers was assessed at 6.20-6.30 Reais ($1.01-1.02) per kg in the week, down by 0.20 Reais per kg.

A bid for BFT max 3.5% FFA was heard at 6.10 Reais per kg, while offers ranged from 6.20-6.30 Reais per kg. A seller was offering at a much higher level for January.
