US domestic biodiesel blending falls 10% in November, leads renewable fuel production lower

US domestic biodiesel blending fell by 10% in November, helping drag overall biofuel blending 6% below October blending, according to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Moderated Transaction System data released on Thursday December 19.

There were 1.745 billion gallons of renewable fuel consumed during November, generating 2.03 billion renewable identification number (RIN) credits. Monthly Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) blending fell to an eight-month low as biomass-based diesel and ethanol production slowed.
