US weekly soybean, wheat, corn export inspections drop

Export inspections of US grains showed a decline for corn, soybean and wheat in the week to December 26, according to data from the USDA released on Monday December 30.

Corn export inspections reached 878,380 tonnes, down by 23.4% from the previous week but up by 54.1% year on year.

The top export destinations were Mexico (292,428 tonnes), Japan (191,326 tonnes), Colombia (136,412 tonnes), South Korea (64,420 tonnes), Honduras (48,800 tonnes) and Ireland (41,022 tonnes).

Yellow corn made up the majority, with 868,358 tonnes passing inspections, while 10,022 tonnes of white corn passed inspection.

Soybean export inspections totaled 1.57 million tonnes, down by 11.5% from the previous week but up by 61.7% year on year.
