Canada’s federal government announced on Tuesday January 7 more than C$11 million in grants to support the development of renewable fuels, including sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel.

Among these, a coalition of companies in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, received $2.55 million toward a pilot facility to produce a new type of sustainable diesel from wood products.

Greenfield Global received $1 million toward its Fisher-Tropsch project in Edmonton, Alberta, that converts forestry waste into renewable diesel and SAF that can be used at 100%, unblended with conventional jet fuel.
