Organic feed prices remain stable; supply concerns persist

Organic feed markets continue to move at a holiday pace, with light overall demand. Larger traders have throttled down origination of organic corn on the East Coast, a response to declining supply of organic corn on global markets.

Domestic supply has been sufficient to stabilize prices. Timing has also been key on the heels of an abundant 2024 crop. Fastmarkets has assessed the organic corn – Midwest price unchanged since the first week in December, following seasonal declines over the fourth quarter of 2024.

Organic soybean meal prices strengthened in the last quarter of 2024. Fastmarkets’ price for organic soybeans in the Midwest increased by 3.5% in the fourth quarter of 2024. Organic soybean meal prices are poised for further gains if supply constraints are not resolved.
