European organic feed markets mostly stable

European organic commodity prices were mostly stable. Merchandisers in Europe tell Fastmarkets that organic oilseed crops – rapeseed and sunflower – are in short supply, driving price increases for these products.

Organic wheat is also showing less availability, according to European traders. Growing conditions for the highest volume EU producers, France and Germany, were poor in 2024.

France harvested 10% less wheat in 2024 than the year prior, a 41-year low according to the Ministère de l’agriculture.  Heavy rains, fewer growing degree days, and late season frosts conspired against the 2024 organic wheat crop in France and Germany.
