US weekly corn, soybean export inspections decline; wheat up 85%

Export inspections of US grains showed a decline for corn and soybeans, while wheat increased in the week to January 23, according to data from the USDA released on Monday January 27.

Corn export inspections reached 1.25 million tonnes, down by 19% from the previous week, but up by 71% year on year.

The top export destinations were Japan (317,292 tonnes), Mexico (314,195 tonnes), South Korea (141,851 tonnes), Colombia (122,219 tonnes), Portugal (74,812 tonnes), Spain (69,198 tonnes) and Morocco (53,269 tonnes).

Yellow corn made up the majority, with 1.22 million tonnes passing inspections, while 23,054 tonnes of white corn passed inspections.

Soybean export inspections totaled 729,362 tonnes, down by 26% from the previous week and by 20% year on year.
