US weekly soybean meal exports, sales surge to new marketing-year highs

2024/25 soybean meal sales were up by 29% week on week to a total of 530,600 tonnes, compared with 410,300 tonnes the week before.

Meal sales increases went to the Philippines (98,800 tonnes), Guatemala (81,600 tonnes), Venezuela (70,600 tonnes, including 24,900 tonnes switched from Panama, 16,500 tonnes switched from Colombia and cancellations of 1,100 tonnes), the Dominican Republic (56,600 tonnes, including 17,000 tonnes switched from unknown destinations and cancellations of 7,400 tonnes) and Mexico (51,500 tonnes, including cancellations of 1,800 tonnes).

The USDA groups undisclosed destinations under the umbrella term “unknown.”

These sales increases were offset by cancellations of 1,400 tonnes for Ecuador and 500 tonnes for Nepal.

For the 2025/26 marketing year, soybean oil sales were 2,000 tonnes. About 1,600 tonnes was slated for Mexico.
