US weekly soybean, wheat export inspections fall; corn climbs

Export inspections of US grains showed a decline for wheat and soybeans, but an increase for corn in the week to Thursday February 13, according to USDA data released on Tuesday February 18.

Corn export inspections reached 1.61 million tonnes, up by 19% from the previous week and by 53% year on year.

The top export destinations were Mexico (457,880 tonnes), Japan (254,389 tonnes), Vietnam (207,775 tonnes), South Korea (207,160 tonnes), Spain (195,464 tonnes), Colombia (66,343 tonnes) and Israel (65,998 tonnes).

Yellow corn made up the majority, with 1.56 million tonnes passing inspections, while 50,580 tonnes of white corn passed inspection.

Soybean export inspections totaled 720,332 tonnes, down by 34% from the previous week and by 44% year on year.
