US corn sales for 2024/25 were reported at 794,700 tonnes in the week to February 20, down by 45% from the previous week and by 47% from the prior four-week average, landing below the USDA’s expected range of 900,000-1.65 million tonnes, USDA data showed on Thursday February 27.

Much of the increase came from Mexico (378,800 tonnes), Colombia (184,300 tonnes), Japan (171,200 tonnes), South Korea (66,000 tonnes) and the Dominican Republic (38,700 tonnes).

These gains were partly offset by reductions for unknown destinations (134,000 tonnes), Spain (37,500 tonnes) and Malaysia (100 tonnes).

The USDA groups undisclosed destinations under the umbrella term “unknown.”

Export sales for the 2025/26 crop season totaled 128,000 tonnes for Japan.

The accumulated export commitments reached 78.2% of the USDA forecast.
