Elevated Organic Soybean Prices Attract New Operations in 2020

 

Higher organic soybean prices have generated interest from farmers and this has been reflected in new operations entering into the fray during the first 14-weeks of 2020. Since the end of 2019, approximately 580 new operations have notified the NOP that they were planning to farm soybeans at some point in the future. With prices in the mid-west above $20 per bushel, the future is likely the 2020/2021 harvest season.
