Risk for Higher Prices in the Meat and Bone Meal Markets
Strong demand for both ruminant and porcine MBM combined with plant downtimes are adding substantial risk to the market for higher prices. Next week’s levels are apt to move above the $400 level and there was light volume today at $500. The Missouri River porcine MBM market hasn’t traded in substantial volume at or above $500 since September 2, 2014.
