Volume Reaches Second Highest on Record

Weekly credit volume surged to the second highest amount on record during the fourth week of April; missing the December 2019 record tally by 936 credits. Credit volume of 977,129 was 182 percent over last week’s total and 60 percent over the same period in Q2 2019.  The average price paid per credit declined $3.00 to $197.66 as credit values remain in a somewhat tight range week to week. There were 78 transactions, 29 more than last week. There were 18 type 1 transfers for 176,578 credits and 60 type 2 for 800,551 credits. Type 1 transactions are trades executed within 10 days of a transfer agreement. Type 2 transactions are executed beyond 10 days of a transfer agreement. The weighted average price for type 1 trades was $186.86 and the weighted average for all trades was $197.66. Average 2020 weekly credit volume increased to 408,931 contracts.
