Bleachable Fancy Tallow Prices At Risk For Move Lower

**Please note**The Jacobsen offices will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.**

Bleachable fancy tallow (BFT) prices moved lower this week on offers. The buyers have shown little interest in nearby material at the offered levels, which adds risk to the market in the near term for lower prices for both packer and renderer material. Technical tallow and edible tallow remain very tight. Australian material is currently priced at an average of $630/MT ($0.2850/lb) FOB for top white (1% max ffa), which may draw some attention from the US market and add potential slack in the four to six week window if buyers establish a position. However, the short term market remains tight and prices for the premium grades look to be well supported in the near term.
