Downward pressure continues in the meat and bone meal markets with lower prices seen out of the Dallas/Houston, California and Illinois markets. Sellers continue to see pressure from the blend sector and increased supply. Hog slaughter has remained well above the 400,000 head mark this week, cattle slaughter was up 7 percent today versus week ago levels and depopulated hogs working through the rendering stream continue to add additional protein to the market.
