2019 US Renewable Energy Use Surpasses Coal

 

US Renewable Energy Consumption Surpasses Coal 

Annual US energy consumption from renewable sources during 2019 exceeded that of coal for the first time since 1885. The US Energy Information Agency (EIA) reported coal consumption declined nearly 15 percent compared to 2018, while total renewable energy consumption grew by 1 percent.
