Soybean Sales Slow, Wheat Improves

 

Weekly Export Sales 

Soybean export sales for the 2019/20 marketing year of 644.3 thousand metric tons (TMT), were 561 TMT below last week’s total and 27 percent under the four-week average of 885.8 TMT.  New crop sales totaled 203 TMT, lifting total sales to 847.3 TMT.  Combined crop year sales were down 49 percent from last week but within analyst estimates that ranged from 400 to 1,400 TMT. 2019/20 export commitments are 76 percent of the USDA revised forecast and need to average 973 TMT per week to meet expectations. Export sales are nine percent below the 2018/19 crop year pace. Major purchases were reported for China, Mexico, and Egypt.

Soybean meal sales for the 2019/20 marketing year of 127.2 TMT were 71.6 TMT below last week’s total and 15 percent under the prior four-week average of 149 TMT. New crop sales were 44.7 TMT, lifting total sales to 172 TMT. Combined crop year sales were 14…
