Organic Soybean Imports Ease Less than Expected

 

Organic soybean imports declined less than expected in April according to The Jacobsen. This has allowed organic soybean prices to slide above the $21 level in the North East and Mid-Atlantic. Organic soybean imports declined month over month in April and dropped 58% year over year. Container traffic in and out of India was hit hard especially at  Nhava Sheva India’s largest container port. Overall throughput declined by 37% this April, compared to April 2019. Imports dropped by 20%, with a sharper fall in containerized exports. A port spokesperson reported that exports out of Nhava Sheva started to pick up in May.
