Animal protein prices are a downward slide around much of the globe this week as increasing production is meeting weaker demand. Prices into the China market slipped below the $500 CIF level this past week and trading into Indonesia was done lower, $390 – 430 CIF.
Despite lower slaughter numbers in the Australian market, MBM prices fell to a range of A$500 – 550 for domestic and export trading. Bloodmeal, feathers and poultry meal were quiet, but a negative sentiment across much of the market adds risk for lower prices come July. New Zealand has seen increased production mix with the weaker demand and cheaper US pricing to drive prices down this week.
