Biodiesel/RD Imports Fall After Reaching 3yr High in April

 

May Biomass-Based Diesel Imports Shrink from April- EIA

According to the Energy Information Agency (EIA), the United States imported 41.16 million gallons of biomass-based diesel (D4) during May. Imports of D4 decreased 23 percent from April but are six percent over volume imported in May of 2019. D4 imports this year have amassed to 197.1 million gallons and are 13.6 percent over 2019 volume through the same time period. 

May biodiesel imports are 22 percent below April volume, but 69 percent more than the amount received in May of 2019.  Biodiesel imports were received from Canada, Germany, South Korea and Spain.  Canada was the leading exporter for the month, providing 11.1 million gallons or 57 percent of the volume, while Germany shipped 4.8 million gallons, or 24 percent of the total.
