Margin Expands on Lower Cost & Improved By-Product Pricing

 

Soybean Crush Central Illinois

The estimated crush margin improved 14 percent as the cost of soybeans declined while the revenue streams increased.  The value received from oil and meal sales per bushel of soybeans crushed moved from $10.28 to $10.34 per bushel while the price of soybeans fell 12 cents to $8.90 per bushel.  The margin expanded 18 cents to $1.44 per bushel.  Soybean prices are six percent higher compared to a year ago and oil values are nine percent over last year, but meal prices are down two percent.  The crush margin is 18 percent below levels seen at this time last year. 

The National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA) reported the June US soybean crush declined 1.4 percent from May, while soybean oil stocks dropped 11 percent, continuing to retreat from a seven-year high reached in April.  The June crush came in two percent below analyst expectations, marking the secondโ€ฆ
