The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported renewable fuel consumption continued to increase as the economy attempted to get back on track during July. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) credit generation improved seven percent from June with 1.6 billion credits recorded and is 54 percent above the April low. Volumetric consumption of 1.48 billion gallons was eight percent over June output and 62 percent above the pandemic low. Consumption was not up across the board. Ethanol and the Advanced Biofuel category experienced an upswing in demand, but biomass-based diesel and the cellulosic category moved lower.
