DCO Prices Sharply Higher

Higher soybean oil prices and strong demand from the renewable and all veg feed sectors have combined to drive distillers corn oil (DCO) prices sharply higher this week. Prices traded up by as much as two cents in the spot market and two and a half cents for OND. The EIA estimated ethanol production at 926,000 barrels per day for last week, down 15,000 bbl/day from the week prior. Distillers corn oil production is estimated by The Jacobsen at just under 8.8 million pounds per day last week, down 9.5 percent compared to last year and down 1.6 percent from the week prior. The tight supplies have certainly added strength to the market, but the lack of optionality for all veg feeders combined…
