EU Reviews Sanctions Against US Biomass-Based Diesel

 

EU Initiates Review of US Anti-Dumping Duties

The European Biodiesel Board (EBB) requested commission review of the anti-dumping duties placed on biodiesel imports from the US.  These duties have been in place since July 7, 2019.  A prior Expiry review of the measure was initiated on July 10, 2014, which led to the duties being extended through September 16, 2020. The second request for an expiry review was published on the European Trade Commission website September 14, 2020.

An expiry review can only lead to repealing or continuing duties, generally for five years. The level or form of the duties in place are not subject to change. A review could take as long as 15 months to complete, and during this time the duties in place would remain in effect.
