Improving Economic Sentiment Buoy’s DDGS Output

 

DDGS and Ethanol Production 

Ethanol production increased 42,000 barrels per day to a 923 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending October 2, 2020.  Ethanol and DDGS output reached a 3-week high as economic sentiment improved. Ethanol production was 4.8 percent above last week’s report but four percent below levels at this time last year. DDGS output increased 3,995 metric tons per day but was 4,263 MT below production from a year ago. 

Gasoline supply went improved 4.3 percent this week but was six percent below 2019 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks were unchanged at 19.7 million barrels. There were no ethanol imports during the past week. Increased ethanol output raised corn demand 622 thousand bushels per day. DDGS output moved with ethanol production, raising 4.8 percent for the week.
