Ethanol production increased 14,000 barrels per day to a 937 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending October 9, 2020. Ethanol and DDGS output reached an 11-week high. Ethanol production was 1.5 percent above last week’s report but 3.5 percent below levels at this time last year. DDGS output was up 1,332 metric tons per day but 3,234 MT below production from a year ago.
Gasoline supply went declined 3.6 percent this week and was 8.3 percent below 2019 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks increased two percent to 20 million barrels. Ethanol imports resumed after no activity last week, with 7.3 million gallons of sugarcane ethanol arriving on the West Coast. Increased ethanol output raised corn demand 207 thousand bushels per day. DDGS output moved with ethanol production, raising 1.5 percent for the week.
