2021 Set to Be Big (Contentious) Year for RFS

 

2021 Renewable Fuel and 2022 Biomass-Based Diesel RVO’s Plus The RFS Reset

2021 is shaping up to be a pivotal and contentious year for the renewable fuels sector.  This isn’t surprising as battle lines are regularly drawn each year in regard to proposed volume requirements and small refinery exemptions.  2021 will have another wrinkle in the yearly Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) debates.  The RFS reset will need to be addressed by the end of October 2021. With the 2021 proposed RFS volume obligations not published, the final ruling on the 2021 standards may be pushed into 2021 as well.  This will have the 2021 and 2022 volume requirements to be decided in 2021 along with the RFS reset.
