Organic Soybean Oil Prices Remain Bifurcated

 

Organic soybean oil prices remain bifurcated. Prices in the middle of the US are trading in the mid-’40s while prices on the coast are in the low to mid-’50s. Oversupply from heavy crushing of organic soybean oil in the spring could have generated this issue. During the spring of 2020, US crushers appear to have picked up their volumes to account for the lack of organic soybean meal that was coming to the US from India.

A bi-product was the increase in the volume of organic soybean oil, which saw its inventories rise. Organic soybean oil is used in feed and some food applications. Most of the time, soybean oil takes a back seat to sunflower oil and is labeled as vegetable oil at the supermarket.
