Corn and Soybeans Near Completion while 5.3 Million 480 Pound Bales of Cotton Await Harvest

Corn:

  • 95 percent harvested

The corn harvest is 95 percent complete, up four points from last week and eight points over the five-year average of 87 percent. According to the USDA’s November WASDE report, 14.5 billion bushels of corn are expected to be harvested.  With the harvest 95 percent complete, 13.8 billion bushels have been harvested and 725.4 million are still in the fields.  Favorable weather has 15 of 18 reporting states at or ahead of their historical harvest pace.  North Dakota is outpacing the historical norm by 27 points. North Carolina is the first state to finish this year’s corn harvest, 13 states are between 90 and 99 percent complete.
