DDGS Output Slows as Ethanol Stocks Reach 24-Week High

 

DDGS Output Consolidates  

Ethanol production declined 16,000 barrels per day to a 974 million-barrel-per-day average during the week ending November 27, 2020.  Ethanol and DDGS volumes pulled back from a post-pandemic high as output and ethanol production narrowed 1.6 percent from the week prior and was 8.1 percent below levels seen at this time last year. DDGS output was lower by 1,522 metric tons per day and was 8,179 MT per day below production from a year ago. 

Gasoline supply declined 1.9 percent and was 12 percent below 2019 levels for the same period. Ethanol stocks continued to build, climbing two percent to 21.2 million barrels, a 24-week high. Sugarcane ethanol imports reappeared on the West Coast after a two week absence.  Sugarcane ethanol imports amounted to about 2.6 million gallons. The decline in ethanol output lowered corn demand 237 thousand bushels per day….
