Pet Food Demand Driving Hi Pro Poultry Meal Products Higher

Tight supplies and strong demand have combined to drive the higher protein poultry meals up over the last month. Pet grade poultry by product meal (PFG PBM) is trading up $100 compared to four weeks ago, chicken meal prices are up $50. Limited raw material availability, which was exacerbated by the holiday slowdowns has helped push those prices up sharply. Seasonality also suggests that the strong market will continue.
