Strong Buyer Interest for the US Hide Market

Strong Buyer Interest for the US Hide Market

Please Note

No Bulletin/Price Guide Published on Monday, January 18

There will be no publication of the hide bulletin/price guide on Monday, January 18 as the offices of The Jacobsen will be closed in observance of the U.S. national holiday honoring the birth of African-American civil rights leader and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The US hide market concludes the week with strong supplier sales and buyer interest. With shutdowns and slow movement in China due to COVID-19, shipping container availability continues to be a risk to the market. Dairy Cow (DC) interest is strong from tanneries in China still able to operate. While some provinces, such as Hebei, are in lockdown, others are taking advantage of the hide availability and are willing to pay higher for the material.
