Hog Slaughter Forecast Down from 2020 Levels

Hog slaughter finished last week at 2.738 million head, up 3.7 percent from the week prior. The forecast for this week is for 2.65 million head before falling to 2.6 million head next week. Slaughter is projected to averaged 2.592 million head over the next six weeks, down 1.7 percent from last year and up 4.2 percent from the prior six week average.
