Ethanol Production Cuts Push DCO Prices Higher

Yellow grease prices traded higher today, sellers are pushing prices up on higher board prices and buyers don’t have many, if any, cheaper options at the moment.

Ethanol production was estimated by the EIA at 933,000 barrels per day for the week ending January 22nd. The production estimate is the lowest since the week ending October 16th of last year. The lower run rate has contributed to tighter corn oil supplies with The Jacobsen estimating weekly production at an average of 8.87 million pounds per day, down 11 percent from the week prior the prior three-year average.
