UCO Prices Higher Again on Tight Supply, Big Demand

Used cooking oil traded higher out of the Illinois and California markets today and late on Friday. Yellow grease moved higher out of the California markets as well. Buyers continue to pay higher prices due to tight supplies of both products.

The US cattle slaughter finished last week at an estimated 653,000 head, up 2.4 percent from year prior levels and down 1.2 percent from the week prior. Cattle slaughter is forecast to trend lower over the next six weeks, averaging 638,800 head per week. The prior four-week average, coming off of the holiday break is 653,500 head….
