Biodiesel Exports Reach Highest Level for any January Since 2014

** Notice** The Jacobsen will discontinue reporting various price points by the end of March, 2021. Regional biodiesel reporting as well as The Jacobsen B100 Index will be removed in favor of additional biodiesel and renewable diesel price points. Renewable Diesel (cents/gal) California LA will be eliminated along with Biodiesel LA CA dlvd ($/MT). International reporting will be adjusted to better reflect both the Renewable Diesel and Biodiesel Market.

 

Biodiesel Imports Fall While Exports Rise

The US imported 9.7 million gallons of biodiesel during December while exporting 9.4 million gallons.  January 2021 imports were 20 percent below December 2020, while exports soared 600 percent to a five month high according the US Census Bureau. Import volume is off to a slow beginning in 2021 with the total for January at its lowest level since 2014, while export activity is at its highest January mark since 2014.
