Organic soybean meal prices remain elevated. During the scramble to cover, prices have traded as high as $1,300 per short ton on the east coast. The news that Lacon, an Indian organic certifier, has been permitted by APEDA to go back to certifying is only a small piece of the puzzle. TQ Cert handles most of the soybeans produced on farms, and they have yet to hear if they will be allowed to certify moving forward. Merchandisers have told The Jacobsen that TQ Cert handles more than 75% of the organic soybeans farmed in India.
