Chicago renderer grade bleachable fancy tallow traded higher today as did choice white grease (CWG) out of the Mo. River and Indiana markets. Strong demand from a number of sectors continues to drive the market higher.
The EIA estimated ethanol production at 938,000 barrels per day for last week, the third highest for the year and the highest estimated production since the week ending January 15th. Gasoline demand was higher as well at 366.5 million gallons, the highest since the week ending November 6th, 2020. Distillers corn oil production is estimated at 8.9 million pounds per day, down 13 percent from year prior levels and down 9.5 percent compared to the prior three year average. Demand for ethanol is looking up, Reuters reported yesterday that three vessels carrying ethanol are bound for China, but exact volume was not reported.
